_스튜디오 프로젝트를 위해 제품을 선정하는 단계에서 우리는 디자이너가 해야하는 일이 최종적으로 아름다움을 만드는 일이라면, 주저없이 드라이기를 선택해야 한다고 생각했다. 매일 아침 우리가 마주해야하는 드라이기는 하루도 빠짐없이 우스꽝스럽게 요란한 형태와 대책없이 굴러다니는 전선으로 시각적 공해를 만들고 있기 때문이다. 모든 디자이너가 그러하듯 우리는 우리만의 멋진 드라이기를 만들기로 결심했다.
우리의 생각은 이러하였다. 우리가 사용하고 있던 드라이기를 다시 디자인 할 것. 이유는 동일한 메커니즘과 기능을 가지면서도 다른 조형성을 가질 수 있다는 점을 보여주고 싶었고(이 드라이기를 만든 누군가에게), 이를 위해서 우리가 사용하던 드라이기를 분해해 기능적인 부품들을 재활용하기로 하였다. 예를 들면, 드라이기를 분해 하였을 때 내부에서 볼 수 있는 전열선과 모터, 단열재, 날개, 버튼, 스위치, 전선 등이다.
드라이기의 형상과 함께 우리의 눈을 괴롭혀왔던 것은 1.5M에 달하는 긴 전선이였는데, 어떻게 보관해도 시각적으로 스트레스를 주기 때문이다. 우리는 전선이 주는 스트레스로부터 벗어나기 위해 드라이기를 사용할 때만 최소한의 전선 노출이 가능하도록 크레들을 두기로 하였다. 이 크레들이 갖는 의미는 크게 두가지인데 하나는 전선을 감아서 보관할 수 있어 사용하지 않을 경우 전선이 보이지 않는다는 점이고, 다른 하나는 드라이기를 보관할 때마다 캐비넷 안에 숨기지 않아도 된다는 점이다.

드라이기의 형상은 기본 도형인 원과 선으로 표현될 수 있는 좁은 직사각형의 조합을 이용하였다. 우리는 형상을 구성하는 요소들 간의 크기 변화와 반복적인 배열을 통해 2차원적인 그래픽 이미지를 연상시키고자 하였다. 여러 각도에서 바라보는 드라이기의 모습이 사용 환경과 어우러져 하나의 포스터를 보는 듯한 느낌을 원했기 때문이다. 이러한 우리의 의도는 크레들에서 보이는 빗선의 형상에서 직접적으로 드러나고 있다.

_In the process of selecting a product for the studio project, we thought that if the designer had to make the final beauty, he would have to choose a hair dryer without hesitation. Every morning, the hair dryer we face is creating a visual pollution of the day, with absolutely comical shapes and tangle of wires. Just like every designer, we decided to make our own cool hair dryer.
We thought so. We will redesign the dryer we were using. We wanted to show that we could have different geometries and functions with the same mechanism, and we decided to break down the hair dryer we used to use this dryer to reclaim functional parts. For example, electric wires, motors, insulation, fan, buttons, switches, and wires that can be seen inside the hair dryer when disassembling.
What has been plagued by our eyes with the shape of the dryer was the 1.5M long wire because it gives visual stress to how it is stored. We decided to put the cradle for this reason so that they could be exposed only when using a dryer to escape from the stress caused by the wires. The meaning of this cradle is twofold: one can keep the wire wrapped, the wire is not visible when not in use, and the other is that it does not need to be hidden in the cabinet every time the hair dryer is stored.

The shape of the hair dryer was a combination of a basic rectangle, a circle, and a narrow rectangle, which could be represented by a line. We attempted to associate a two-dimensional graphic image with the size change and repetitive arrangement between the elements of the shape. We wanted a feeling of seeing a poster because the view of the hair dryer from various angles blended with the environment. This intention is directly revealed in the shape of the lines seen in the cradle.
